Welcome to the Secret Treehouse!
We’re so happy to have you visit and see what we’ve been up to. We hope you enjoy what’s already here, and also all the good stuff to come. We are a group of illustrators, mostly working on picture books - sometimes writing them, and always appreciating amazing art.
We (Devon, Tanja, Jennifer, Andrea, Isabelle, Kathryn, & Sofia) met each other through online picture book classes, then went on to meet over a few years at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The first year it was Devon & Tanja, then the next year Isabelle joined, then the following year we were all there, plus a huge group of other fabulous illustrators we had met in picture book class. The book fair in Bologna is one magical common thread we got to share, and we hope to be back again soon (crossing fingers for next year!), but in the mean time we’ve been dreaming bigger.
Among us we are accordion and bass players, designers and architects, mural painters, puppet makers, gamers and gardeners, mothers and dog and cat moms, all living in different parts of the world. Our styles, voices, and inspirations come from many places but we share this love for stories and bringing them to life. We also believe in supporting each other and the artists around us to feel seen and heard, to help improve our craft and learn new skills, and to bring beauty, wonder, magic and hopefully a laugh into our work and daily lives.

In addition to portfolio reviews, we’ll share our own career insights and answer your questions with live Q&A’s. We’ll also offer tutorials, behind the scenes and sneak peeks, and eventually workshops (hopefully in person, too!).
